Dr. Hiu Man Chan is a senior lecturer at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK. She specialises in the creative industries, focussing on the collaboration in the film sector between the European Union (EU), United Kingdom (UK), and China. She holds a PhD from Cardiff University, Master of Arts from University College London (UCL) and Bachelor of Arts from Oxford Brookes University.

She is a film producer, consultant and entrepreneur. She has also been fascinated by the philosophical inquiry into AI and human interaction as a personal interest. In parallel to her teaching and research, she has been an active practitioner involving in a wide range of projects with over 15 years of industry experience. These include co-production film development, film distribution and exhibition, film festival, film related IP concept design, publishing and creative enterprise development.
